Amber Alert issued for child after El Reno machete attack
EL RENO, Okla. (AP) — An Amber Alert has been issued for an 8-year-old El Reno girl following a machete attack on two men in El Reno.
The Oklahoma Department of Public Safety said Thursday that 8-year-old Mabel Lopez is believed to be with the suspect in the attack — 39-year-old Arcenio DeJesus — and DeJesus' wife — Maria Lopez-Rodriguez, who is also known as Maria Ramierez.
DPS says both the girl and the wife are believed to be in danger and that the three are thought to be traveling to Mexico in a green, 2005 Ford Explorer with Oklahoma license plate 689-LHD .
El Reno police told reporters that DeJesus is suspected of using a machete to attack and critically injure two men about 11 p.m. Wednesday.
