Brightmusic presents America, the Beautiful
Spring Music Festival June 11-16
Brightmusic’s Fourth Annual Spring Music Festival, America, the Beautiful, will present four concerts on June 11, 13, 14 and 16. The Festival will showcase the works of an all-American lineup, highlighting the contributions of American composers to chamber music literature. Featured composers and works will include George Gershwin (Rhapsody in Blue), Samuel Barber (Adagio for Strings), John Corigliano (The Red Violin), Charles Ives, Peter Schickele, John Williams, John Harbison and Oklahoma City’s own Edward Knight, Professor of Music and Composer-in-Residence at Oklahoma City University.
The festival promises to be among Oklahoma City’s most outstanding musical events of the season. Join us in celebrating some of America’s finest chamber music.
America, the BeautifulFestival Musicians will feature Dr. Sean Y. Wang, Violin as Guest Artist with Dr. Gregory Lee, Violin; Hal Grossman, Violin; Katrin Stamatis, Violin; Dr. Mark Neumann, Viola; Dr. Jonathan Ruck, Cello; Dr. Meredith Blecha-Wells, Cello; Parthena Owens, Flute; Lisa Harvey-Reed, Oboe; Chad Burrow, Clarinet; Rodney Ackmann, Bassoon; Dr. Kate Pritchett, Horn; Dr. Amy I-Lin Cheng, Piano; Wen Shen, Piano.
