Candidates try to pinpoint blue wave hot spots

Senator Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez rallied in deep-red Kansas this week, raising questions about whether progressive messaging can work for Democrats in the heartland.
"They said what we did in the Bronx no one would care about it in Kansas," said Ocasio-Cortez."What this moment means requires for us is for everyday people to do more than they have ever done before to reclaim the soul of this nation."
Sanders said, "We must have gotten off at the wrong stop because people told me Kansas was a Republican state. Doesn't look like that today. ... We are going to create a government which represents all of us, not just wealthy campaign contributors."
