Celebrate Pride at the OKC Zoo on special "Date Night
Pride Date Night event welcomes all adults 21+ for an evening of wildlife, beer/wine tastings, karaoke, special drag performance
Celebrate Pride with a special Date Night at the Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden this Thursday, June 20, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Doors open to guests at 5:30 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend, with Pride Date Night particularly welcoming and celebrating inclusivity of Oklahoma’s LGBTQ community. Nearly the entire Zoo will be open for adults 21-and-older to explore together, enjoying the beautiful Oklahoma sunset with a multitude of activity options, including a drag performance by Carmen Deveraux, Patricia Thai and Vera Ball at 8 p.m. in the Roughneck Pavilion.
In addition to the drag show, Date Night attendees can explore the Zoo, participate in dance lessons, attend a sea lion and Asian elephant presentation, sing along with karaoke, play outdoor games and sample unique wines and beers by COOP Aleworks. OKC Zoo animal experts will also be on hand to share the unique courting rituals of some of the Zoo’s most popular animals. Special menus will be featured at Canopy, Lotus Pavilion and a special outdoor grille at the Devon picnic grounds overlooking Zoo Lake. Pride Week in Oklahoma City is June 17-23 with Pride events happening throughout the month and around the city.
“The Oklahoma City Zoo is proud to celebrate inclusivity during OKC Pride Week with this special event,” said Greg Heanue, OKC Zoo chief marketing officer. “The Zoo welcomes everyone and is a safe environment where all can explore the park to connect with wildlife and wild places.”
Date Night tickets are now available at okczoo.org/datenights. Some packages feature drink tickets which can be redeemed for a beverage, including beer, wine, alcohol and non-alcohol options. Food is not included.

Paws for PRIDE at the OKC Zoo! The Zoo is a proud member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, the American Alliance of Museums, Oklahoma City’s Adventure District and an Adventure Road partner. Hours of operation are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Regular admission is $11 for adults and $8 for children ages 3-11 and seniors ages 65 and over. Children two and under are admitted free.
