Let’s face it. You never know what’s going to come out of Bill Maher’s mouth. For the last three decades, Maher has set the boundaries of where funny, political talk can go on American television. On Sunday, April 9, Oklahomans will get to spend An Evening With Bill Maherat the Oklahoma City Civic Center.

Maher is an American comedian, Emmy nominated talk show host, political commentator, and actor who has entertained live audiences across the past three decades. He is known for his political satire and for bringing humor to serious topics like political correctness, mass media, social power, religion and greed.

Known for his biting quips, no topic is off limits, no group left untouched, no politician unscathed. For example, he has said, “I have a problem with people who take the Constitution loosely and the Bible literally.”

And “Trying to get today's Republicans to accept basic facts is like trying to get your dog to take a pill. You have to feed them the truth wrapped in a piece of baloney, hold their snouts shut and stroke their throats. And even then, just when you think they've swallowed it, they spit it out on the linoleum.”

But don’t think Democrats get off easy. Of the Dems, he has said, “There is a big difference between a disappointing friend and a deadly enemy. Of course the Democrats are disappointing. That's what makes them Democrats. If they were any more frustrating they'd be your relatives”.

So take a seat belt with you to hold you in place, because otherwise, you are going to fall on the floor laughing.

Since 2003, Maher has hosted Real Time with Bill Maher, which airs Friday evenings on HBO. He is one of the most politically astute comedians in America today. His unflinching honesty and commitment to never pulling a punch have garnered him the respect and admiration of millions of fans. The show has received multiple Emmy nominations as well as nominations from the Writer's Guild of America.

Each week, Maher's hilarious opening monologue, incisive interviews and stimulating panel discussion, as well as his extremely popular "New Rules" segment, serve to wrap up the week's most important events in a way that makes you think, as well as laugh.

Before Real Time, Maher created Politically Incorrect on Comedy Central, where he brought together some of the most interesting politicians, entertainers and journalists to participate in some of the most controversial, topical and comical discussions.

Maher is also an accomplished author, where his same ‘take no prisoners’ attitude reigns. Titles include New Rules, New New Rules, Does Anybody Have a Problem With That? and When you ride ALONE you ride with bin Laden.
