Free Family Day at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art

Free Family Day takes place throughout the OKC Museum of Art.

Live music, arts activities, planned for Sunday, April 13

Oklahoma City -Everyone is invited to Free Family Day at the Oklahoma City Museum of Art on Sunday, April 13 from 12 to 5pm. The free program is organized around the special exhibition, "Come On Down" by Lisa Hoke and will take place throughout the Museum at 415 Couch Drive in downtown Oklahoma City.

The event will feature live entertainment including Oklahoma's own Sugar Free All Stars, Spaghetti Eddie! and Michael King the Magician. Ongoing throughout the afternoon will be a variety of hands-on art activities inspired by Lisa Hoke's exhibition and the photography exhibitions featuring Brett Weston's and Ansel Adams' work. Free admission and all activities for the day are sponsored by Sonic, America's Drive-In.

"Thanks to Sonic, America's Drive-In, everyone in the community has the opportunity to enjoy the Museum for free," said Amanda Harmer, OKCMOA Community Outreach Coordinator. "We encourage everyone to come to the Museum to experience Lisa Hoke's installation 'Come On Down' and all we will have going on that day."

"Come on Down" is a colorful, monumental wall frieze, measuring fifteen feet high and spanning more than 150 feet. The installation incorporates an assortment of everyday materials-from recycled paper and product packaging to plastic cups-and confronts the notion of mass production in America.

Activities are appropriate for all ages, and no reservations are required. For a full schedule and details about Family Day, visit www.okcmoa.com.
