Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those affected by the recent destructive weather.  The Central OK Workforce Investment Board is working on a project to bring in additional funds from the U.S. Department of Labor to provide some relief to victims.

This National Emergency Grant will provide aid to those individuals who have been displaced from their home or work.  Please help us identify how many people have lost their employment because of the tornados and severe storms by letting me know if your business sustained damage preventing your employees from returning to work.  Please let me know also if you have any employees that can’t report to work because they have lost their home, car, or have sustained injuries that prevent them from returning to work due to the severe weather conditions.

If your business was not impacted and all of your employees are able to report to work but you know of other businesses that are impacted or employees of other businesses that are unable to return to work, please send me that information so that I can follow up with them as well.

Email to eddieforeman@cowib.org the number of employees whose place of employment has been damaged or cannot return to work.  If you provide information to us, we will contact you again once we have final details of the National Emergency Grant funding.   We sincerely hope your business and employees have not been harmed but please let us know if that is the case.
