Hillary Clinton hinting at possible roles for Bill Clinton as 'First Gentleman'

Hillary Clinton has done quite a bit on her own this election season; however, for her to succeed there's someone else she needs - former President Bill Clinton.

As she campaigned in Kentucky, Clinton leaned heavily on her husband’s popularity and promised that he would play a significant role in decision making if she were to win in November.

“I want to help bring back the kind of economy that worked for everybody in the 1990s,” she told more than 100 people crammed into a diner in Kentucky on Monday. “I’ve already told my husband that if I’m so fortunate enough to be president and he will be the first gentleman, I’ll expect him to go to work…to get incomes rising.”

Both Clintons have said that if she is elected, Mr. Clinton would have a role advising her on the economy. The former first lady raised some eyebrows Sunday, when she appeared to go further, saying he would be “in charge” of economic revitalization. Aides later said no particular role had been discussed for him.

The legacy of Bill Clinton’s presidency revolved around economic stability and job creation, and it’s clear that Hillary Clinton is looking to carry on that legacy should she be elected.

Last month on “The Late Show,” when host Stephen Colbert asked about his role, she said, “Jobs, jobs, jobs. Nobody did it better, created more jobs, helped incomes rise. I want every bit of advice he can give me about how we do the same going forward.”

Clinton is leading the delegate count in the Democratic Primary currently, with Kentucky and Oregon heading the polls today.
