Trump presidency may tap Oklahoma officials

President-elect Donald Trump may be interested in pulling some Oklahomans on board his administration. Throughout Trump’s campaign, many Republicans from Oklahoma aided his success and were in strong support of his candidacy. With Trump’s win, some of these officials may be seeking to serve under his presidency.
Pam Pollard, Chair of the Oklahoma Republican Party, assured there would be several highly qualified individuals who are interested in serving for Donald Trump.
“Two Oklahomans could be tapped to serve as Energy Secretary,” said reporter Crystal Price of KOCO. “Those include Michael Ming, who previously served as Energy Secretary for the state, as well as Continental Resources CEO, Harold Hamm.”
Other officials who may be tapped are Senator Jim Inhofe and Attorney Don Shandy for the Environmental Protection Agency, as well as Governor Mary Fallin, who is possibly being considered for Secretary of Interior on Trump’s administration.
This isn’t the first-time Governor Fallin has expressed interest in serving for Mr. Trump, but her obligation to Oklahoma may take precedence.
In the interview with KOCO, Pollard concluded, “I know she is focused on Oklahoma, but we don’t know what Mr. Trump is going to do.”
Fallin’s Press Secretary, Michael McNutt, stated that Governor Fallin is remaining focused on the new budget for Oklahoma as well as the upcoming legislative session. However, Fallin is looking forward to the transition into the Trump presidency and will continue her support for his policies.
In his statement, McNutt asserted, “The Governor is going to do all she can to help President-elect Trump carry forth his winning agenda for America.”
The future seems uncertain for Oklahomans’ contribution to Trump’s administration, but the support has been overwhelming from officials such as Governor Fallin. As January approaches, Trump must make big decisions to fill his open seats.
