Transgender woman followed, shot in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Police are seeking two suspects after they say a transgender woman was followed after leaving a bar and shot in Philadelphia.

The shooting occurred late Sunday night on Malvern Avenue.

Police say the 21-year-old woman had left a bar on 66th Street and Lansdown Avenue when she was approached by a man who fired five times with a handgun.

The woman is in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the hip.

Police say the victim and the suspect were at the same bar earlier in the evening.
