Where are you with your fitness and health in 2018?

Many people decide to improve their exercise and health at the beginning of the year.
I think it can be a good thing to do a comprehensive review of where you feel you are, even this early in the year. It can build confidence and go a long way in taking control for a long and healthy life.
So, what did you decide to do for 2018?
As I have written prior, the start of a new year can be a great time to reevaluate your fitness.
Where are you currently; what might be lacking? Meeting nutritional requirements and assessing long-term goals are all part of the review.
There are many challenges to staying motivated when it comes to fitness. After the holidays, many people are tired and ready to stay at home more during this time of year.
During winter months, the weather is cold, and sunlight is more limited than it is during any other season.
Your mind, body, and spirit may or may not be ready for the adjustment and the dedication your desires are demanding.
The reality is, any fitness plan needs to provide for flexibility at all levels.
For those of you who are frustrated that your New Year’s resolutions aren’t continuing toward reality, take heart. Just make some simple, nominal adjustments to your activity to start on a program now, add on as the days warm and your body adjusts. You can make it successful.
Never knock yourself because you don’t look like what you had imagined. The important thing is long-term health.
For those of you who committed to an exercise routine and have been successful, kudos to you. You are on your way to a sound fitness lifestyle.
Just make sure to continue an evaluation of what you are doing, what you are eating and seek out others who have similar goals and ideas.
Don’t ever underestimate the importance of potential of building “synergy” with others who are fitness prone. It can be healthy and very positive.
For those who have given up, assess why you have done so. Are you not meeting your goals?
Remember, many of us occasionally fumble with our daily goals. Just make adjustments to what you feel you can accomplish and get back up and get busy. It’s never too late to start over.
For those who can only make a quarter mile walk a day a reality, take heart; that’s awesome!
Keep your efforts up, do it in the time you have available, at a time and location that works and keep plugging away. For those that do, you are on the way to an improved life.
