Over four days in October, 44 contestants competed in five categories: Male Interview, Presentation, Talent, Evening Gown and On-Stage Question.

According to organizers, Andora Te’tee slayed the audience and judges to win the crown. She performed her stunning interpretation of the pageant’s Fantastical Creatures theme and her Broadway-worthy performance of I Enjoy Being a Girl, which included eight dancers and a record-breaking nine costume changes.

Out of drag, Andora is Michael Collins, an event decorator who moved to New York City from Baltimore eleven years ago, where he lives in Hell’s Kitchen with his husband of four years.

Collins uses his drag work to benefit The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center of Baltimore and Central Maryland (GLCCB). The GLCCB works hand-in-hand with Cheer New York, an adult cheerleading team and non-profit organization which raises money for charities, including Immigration Equality, this year’s Cheer For Life Fund recipient.

All of Andora’s dancers are Cheer New York volunteers.

Andora entered representing the state of New York after winning the Miss Gay New York 2018 America preliminary in March of this year.

The Miss Gay America pageant, established in 1972, is now in its 48th year and is the longest running and most prestigious female impersonator competition in the world.
