Tulsa's Twisted Arts Film Festival announces 2024 lineup
Showcasing Excellence in LGBTQ2S+ Cinema
Tulsa’s Twisted Arts is thrilled to announce the full lineup for its 2024 edition of the Twisted Arts Film Festival, celebrating the best in LGBTQ2S+ cinema. The festival will take place from Wednesday, October 2nd through Saturday, October 5th, 2024, at Circle Cinema in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This year’s festival will feature a diverse selection of films, live appearances, panels, and performances from both local and national artists.
The 2024 festival lineup includes appearances by notable figures such as Amy Scott, director of Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken; Daniel Ribiero, director of Perfect Endings; performance artist and musician Kalup Linzy; and local queens who will bring the cult classic Death Becomes Her to life during the Drag Me to the Movies event.

Opening Night: Wednesday, October 2 | 7 PM
Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken: This inspiring documentary tells the story of five female inmates from the Topeka Correctional Facility whose letters to Melissa Etheridge inspired her to create and perform an original song.
Filmmaker Amy Scott will be in attendance.
Opening Night Party at 473 Bar & Backyard immediately following the screening.
Thursday, October 3 | 7 PM
Perfect Endings (13 Sentimentos): João navigates the end of a decade-long relationship, revealing the unpredictability of life compared to film scripts.
Director Daniel Ribiero will be in attendance.

Friday, October 4 | 6 PM
Chuck, Chuck Baby: Helen’s life is upended when Joanne, her teenage crush, reappears, leading to a heartfelt exploration of love and self-discovery.
Friday, October 4 | 8 PM
Drag Me to the Movies: Death Becomes Her: Local queens bring the cult classic Death Becomes Her to life with a hilarious and unforgettable parody performance before the screening.

Saturday, October 5 | 12:30 PM
Turtles: A poignant exploration of love and loss as Thom and Henri, partners for 35 years, confront the strains in their relationship and the challenges of aging.

The Herricanes: This award-winning documentary tells the story of the pioneering women’s full-tackle football teams in the U.S., highlighting their challenges and triumphs.
Saturday, October 5 | 5:30 PM
Any Other Way: The Jackie Shane Story: An intimate documentary capturing the life of Jackie Shane, a transgender pioneer in Toronto's 1960s music scene.
Following the screening, Tri-City Collective and Black Queer Tulsa will host a panel discussion.
Closing Night: Saturday, October 5 | 8 PM
Afterparty at Queen Rose Art House
Celebrate the festival’s grand finale with performances by Kalup Linzy and DJ Kylie, rounding off another successful year of films, art, and live performances.
