Rally for your rights at the Capitol in Little Rock, Friday, Feb. 6 at 9am

Attend hearing before two committees on Friday.

Two bills will be introduced tomorrow morning (Friday, February 6) that could make a significant impact on all Arkansans. HB1228 (http://goo.gl/rcDdai) seeks to allow religious-based discrimination and SB202 (http://goo.gl/Agd8yO) seeks to prohibit cities from enacting fairness ordinances. If these bills pass and allow people to use their religion to dictate how they serve the public, it will not only disenfranchise LGBTQ Arkansans, it will lead to the discrimination of many other people.

For example, a business owner can refuse service to someone with a religious affiliation that differs from theirs. LGBTQ students could be denied equitable access to education because of their teacher's beliefs. The U.S. Constitution already protects freedom of religion; these bills are an attempt to allow people to openly discriminate against whomever they choose.

Join CAR tomorrow morning as we stand together and openly oppose these bills. We will meet at the Capitol in Little Rock at 9am. Both bills will be heard in committee hearing at 10am. House Bill 1228 will be held in room 149 and Senate Bill 202 will be heard in room 272.

Contact ALL committee members as well as your own senator and representative now and demand that they consider the precarious situation they are attempting to put ALL Arkansans in.
