The Gayly launches new website, hires full time journalist

Last month, The Gayly branched out in two exciting areas of expansion, which have been in the works for many months. The launch of a new website and hiring a full time journalist, who will assist the editor in chief with the many tasks required to produce the monthly issue and continue ongoing website coverage and social media.

Rob Howard will continue to serve as the associate editor.

“We are so excited to introduce Sara Ritsch to our Gayly readership,” said Robin Dorner, Editor in Chief.  “Sara will be a vital part of The Gayly team covering news from across the region and building our social media presence.”

Ritsch has a degree in English-Creative Writing and has worked as a freelance writer and as a co-editor of a literary journal.

“I’m excited because it’s hard to find a career in my field that both supports my true interests and allows me to be myself, judgment withheld,” said Ritsch. “I’m pursuing a dream, I’m benefiting a community.”

The Gayly distribution continues to grow with copies of our print version at nearly 20,000 each month and new distributions sites popping all the time up all over in the five state area we cover. We have expanded to Kansas City, Topeka and Dodge City, Kansas just in the last year and much more in our region.

The Gayly is the only LGBT news source in this region.

The Gayly is currently distributed in Oklahoma, Kansas, Arkansas, Missouri and parts of Texas, and can be viewed online at www.gayly.com.

Gayly.com rolls out new website:

In November, Gayly.com launched its new website. The new site features a revolving carousel of the top stories of the day mainly relating to the LGBT community or items of interest to the community.  Also, new to the site is a Breaking News bar of important news as it happens.    
The Gayly and Gayly.com are members of the Associated Press and as such has access to all the news as it happens worldwide. Along with that the site has interesting and exclusive articles written by our own award winning staff as well as contributing writers throughout our region.

You may sign up for free online viewing of the print version of The Gayly newspaper by filling out a subscription on the website. Along with the subscription you will have the choice of receiving the current news of the day as it happens or once a day. Your subscription will also give you access to the past issues of The Gayly newspaper.
