Trump's USA Freedom Kids

This Wednesday, Donald Trump brought to the public his newest, most outrageous campaign method – dancing children.
“The USA Freedom Kids” consist of three girls ages 12 and under who have a choreographed chant, or song, about freedom in the face of injustice. Well, in the face of cowardice.
“Cowardice, are you serious? Apologies for freedom – I can’t handle this! When freedom rings, answer the call! On your feet, stand up tall!” They exclaim, sporting cheerful attitudes and scant attire (for a child, that is).
Jeff Popick, who is a giant Trump advocate, put this group together for Trump’s campaign. “We need [Donald Trump] because we’re coming off the heels of a guy who doesn’t even get the concept,” he says, presumably referencing President Obama.
“I was watching when Donald Trump announced his candidacy, and he talked about the need for a strong military. And I remember him saying that, ‘We’re going to find the next General George Patton.’
“When Donald Trump said that, I was inspired to make [this song] even more contemporary than it already was, and make it more about Donald Trump.”
A clear visionary, the song continues:
“Freedom’s on our shoulders, USA! Enemies of freedom face the music. Come on boys, take them down! President Donald Trump knows how to make America great! [Do it] from strength or get crushed every time…”
Trump’s use of these small children saddens me in one way in particular, aside from the blatant message that Trump is the only solution to all of America’s problems. It saddens me because these girls do not yet understand the weight of their message, their use, and that they will forever be the entertainers that amused a Trump audience.
At their peak, they will look back with either shame or pride. But according to Trump’s wavering position on women’s rights, their positive outlooks may expire if his campaign in any way changes America.
Either way, the usage of 12-year-old cheerleaders with “Ameritude” is definitely a curveball, even for someone as outrageous as The Donald.
I just hope it doesn’t inspire the nation to vote in his favor – nor inspire his fellow Republican candidates to exploit more children for attention. How needy.
