OKC Ballet's "Nutcracker" opens
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – Oklahoma City Ballet will open its seasonal production of The Nutcracker at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 7, 2012 at the Civic Center Music Hall, located at 201 N. Walker Ave. in Oklahoma City. The Oklahoma City Philharmonic will perform Tchaikovsky’s score live at each show.
For the 2012 season, there will be a total of eight performances Dec. 7 – 9 and Dec. 14 – 16. Each weekend includes a 7 p.m. Friday performance, a 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. performance on Saturday and a 2 p.m. performance on Sunday. The production will feature more than 100 dancers, including numerous children selected during auditions in August.
This year, all performances will be enhanced by family activities. Before each performance, families are invited to decorate ornaments in the lobby. There will also be photos with Santa and a Braum’s Milk & Cookies reception with the dancers after each matinee.
Individual ticket prices range from $25 to $52 depending on the section. Special “Family Four Packs” are available for $50. Rest-of-Season packages for the remaining three performances, which include a ticket to “Nutcracker”, “Paris Rouge” (Feb. 9-10) and “Swan Lake” (April 19-21), are available, and range from $69 to $141, depending on seat location.
