The newly elected OKC Pride Board of Directors have had had not only an increase in membership, a change in hierarchy, but quite a change in plans for upcoming Pride.
The dates of next year’s parade and accompanying festivities are June 20-22, 2014. The decision to change the date was unanimous, encompassing many reasons, including thunderstorms and threats of tornadoes.
OKC Pride elected the following members to its board of directors: President: Kindt Myers; Vice President: Jeffrey Duncan; Treasurer: Blaine Moore; Secretary: Brandon Beard; Michael Clark, Jim Craig, Angel Hamilton, Mahkesha Hogg, Adam Jackson, Jeff Jordan, David Rackley, Doug Rankin and Dustin Woods.
“I am honored and delighted to lead this board and dedicated group of volunteers into 2014,” said Myers. “We plan to increase our educational programs, awareness and strengthen community partnerships while offering the most exciting celebration OKC Pride has seen to date.”
Effective at the October 22 board meeting, Jeremy Crites, Past President; Heather Herrera, Vice President; and Oliver Jackson resigned from the OKC Pride Board.
In parting, Crites said, “It has been an honor to serve the community in Oklahoma City as a member of the OKC Pride board for the last two years. The time has come to move on and find a different capacity to be of help and service to others.”
