OKCTC presents Tartuffe

A clever and naughty comedy, OKCTC's "Tartuffe" is re-envisioned in a modern setting. Photo provided.

A clever and naughty comedy, Tartuffe is this season's World Classics selection. Re-envisioned in a modern setting with a central character that bears a closer resemblance to the televangelists of the 1980s, this timeless piece will have you gasping, blushing, and roaring with laughter. Moliere's classic comedy satirizes religious hypocrisy, blind piety, and deceit. This adaptation captures these themes in playfully irreverent rhyme.

The story: When the religious hypocrite Tartuffe weasels his way into the good graces of Orgon, he is promised the family fortune and his daughter's hand in marriage (even as he secretly attempts to seduce Orgon's wife).

The play is directed by Fabrice Conte (OKCTC's Frankenstein andMedea)
