Paseo’s First Friday on Friday Sept 4
Oklahoma City, OK (August 27, 2015) – The Paseo Arts District’s First Friday Gallery Walk for September will take place Friday, Sept. 4 from 6pm to 10pm. The Gallery Walk will have 22 galleries open featuring 80 artists, who will host opening receptions, promising something for everyone.
Each First Friday, Paseo galleries offer guest artists’ exhibits, refreshments, live music and food trucks! This month saxophonist Justin Young will play in the plaza and our guest food truck Phill Me Up Cheesesteaks, an OKC cheesesteak food truck.
The Paseo Art Space will be featuring PhotoFest 2015, an annual juried photography exhibition sponsored by Red River Photo Services. The show features 27 works by 21 Oklahoma photographers displaying all types of photography-based artwork, including traditional and digital processes as well as mixed media. The Paseo Arts Association aims to represent and spotlight the depth and diversity of contemporary Oklahoma photography through PhotoFest.
The Foraker Company will soon break ground on two new developments in the historic Paseo District, Pueblo at Paseo (NW 28th and Dewey) and Via Paseo (NW 28th and Walker). In anticipation of these exciting multi-use additions to the neighborhood, the developers are hosting a community and family-friendly gathering in the now-vacant space at Via, showcasing a relaxing pit stop for First Fridays’ event goers this month. Energy FC will have two players on-site to play alongside fans with their Soccer Billiards pop-up game along with the Energy Beer Trailer, featuring three different brews, for guests to enjoy within the designated area. Also, local food trucks Ciao Wagon and Snow S’more will be parked on the lot and, for convenience, picnic table seating will also be available. Stop by, eat, drink and play merrily at the gateway to the Paseo during September’s First Friday Art Walk!
Paseo, Oklahoma City’s historic arts district is OKC’s unique arts destination! Dozens of galleries, three restaurants and a handful of shops stand in distinctive Spanish Mission Revival style buildings, all within walking distance. Once you visit for a First Friday Gallery Walk, you will want to linger for the Paseo’s unique atmosphere. The Paseo Arts District is located between Northwest 30th and 27th Streets and Walker and Hudson.
