In keeping with nearly three decades of tradition, the Paseo Arts Association is proud to once again name one of its most well-loved artists as the designer for this year’s Paseo Arts Festival poster. This year’s artist is Gayle Curry.

The design (below) is a stylized interpretation of the buildings in the Paseo Arts District, depicted in a lively color scheme that echoes the vibrancy of the art community itself. “It really captures the personality of all of the different buildings,” says PAA Executive Director Jennifer Barron. “It is a great, fun design that is just perfect for this event.”

Gayle Curry is a self-taught, innovative artist not bound by convention or tradition. Her work is an eclectic mix of mediums and unique expressions of form, color, light and texture. Her paintings are represented in public, private, and corporate collections throughout the United States. Gayle grew up in Cromwell, Oklahoma and has lived in and around Oklahoma City since 1983. She currently exhibits her art at "In Your Eye Studio and Gallery" in the Historic Paseo Arts District where she serves as Vice President of the Paseo Arts Association. Gayle also volunteers her time with the Oklahoma Art Guild helping with marketing.

The Paseo Arts Festival will celebrate its 37th year in 2013, and it will take place from May 25-27, Memorial Day Weekend. The Historic Paseo Arts District is Oklahoma City’s distinctive arts community. Dozens of galleries, three restaurants and a handful of shops stand in distinctive Spanish Mission Revival style buildings, all within walking distance. The Paseo Arts District islocated between Northwest 30th and 27th Streets and Walker and Hudson Ave.
