Sanders and Clinton supporters clash in Las Vegas

A march by the International Nurses United for democratic presidential hopeful Bernie Sanders clashed briefly Tuesday with a counter march by supporters of Hillary Clinton. The confrontation took place on a walking bridge overlooking Las Vegas Blvd. near the Wynn hotel Tuesday a few hours before the start of the first Democratic Debate for the 2016 election season.
Hotel security and Las Vegas Metro police were on hand to make sure the confrontation remained peaceful and no fights or injuries were reported.
Many of these nurses later on attended along with others, the watch party for Sanders in a small ballroom down the hallway from the actual debate. Sitting on the floor of the ballroom this zealous crowd of Sanders supporters burst into applause when Sanders made his point.
During a pause in the debate one supporter, Cary Sunshine from San Francisco and a member of the California Nurses Association, had this to say when asked how he thought Sanders was doing. “I think he’s doing really well, he’s keeping neck in neck with Hillary.” He went on to add, “Hillary is doing a lot better than I thought she would. There seems to be a softening kind of thing to make her more electable. Something she was probably prompted to do.”
The debate seemed to focus more on Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton more than the other three candidates, a point which was not lost to the other candidates. This is surely to add to the controversy surrounding the few debates planned by the Democratic Party. With the first debate concluded, many have expressed the feeling that Hillary Clinton was the winner of this first debate. However, the hyper-passionate Sanders crowd here in Las Vegas would probably not concede that point.
