The Habana Inn is up for sale.
"There is something for everyone at the Habana Inn. For over 25 years diverse LGBTQ travelers have made us their vacation destination," says the hotel website.
Located in the heart of the Oklahoma City Gayborhood at NW 39th and Penn, the Habana Inn is home to many LGBT-friendly hot spots.
The resort is home to two nightclubs, Copa and Finishline. One restaurant, Gushers. Also, one gift shop, Jungle Red.
Floyd Martin, self-proclaimed Mayor of the Gayborhood in OKC said, "Oklahoma City is one of the few places of this size in the country that has a 'gay district' and certainly a gay resort. Although it may not be your cup of tea, it is important to this community and it's history."
Martin continued, "It may not mean nothing to you, but if you were a gay kid coming out in Oklahoma in the 80s or 90s (before the internet), The Habana Inn and all of 39th street was life changing."
"This property is a 170 room exterior corridor, limited service, two-story hotel. It includes a casual restaurant with private rooftop bar, two nightclubs, two outdoor pools and a gift shop," says Peter B Holmes, broker for the Habana Inn in Oklahoma City.
The property overview continues, "The hotel is known for its friendly staff, trendy bar and welcoming attitude to the LGBTQ community. The hotel is offered significantly under replacement cost and at approximate land value. With 4.14 acres and over 1000 feet of Interstate frontage the property is an excellent opportunity for a tear down and re-use."
The property manager was not available for comment this afternoon.
