S.P.A.C.E 2016-2017 Call for Entries

Oklahoma City – The Paseo Arts Association announces a Call for Entries for S.P.A.C.E, the Skirvin Paseo Artist Creativity Exposition. It’s a unique urban Artist in Residency program in which Oklahoma artists who are members of the Paseo Arts Association can apply for a yearlong on-site residency in Oklahoma City’s premier downtown landmark hotel, the Skirvin Hilton.

The Skirvin’s Artist in Residency program offers a working art studio and gallery that is open to the public during established business hours as well as $1,000 per month stipend, free parking and complimentary meals in the hotel’s employee cafeteria to a selected artist each year.

Timeline: 1) Deadline for entries- July 26, 2016. 2) Notification of Finalists- August 10, 2016. 3) Artist Interviews- T.B.A. 4) S.P.A.C.E artist selected- August 30, 2016. 5) 2016-2017 Residency begins- October 1, 2016.

“This is a fabulous opportunity for an emerging or established artist,” said Amanda Bleakley, Executive Director of the Paseo Arts Association. “The Skirvin Hilton Hotel is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown Oklahoma City with considerable pedestrian traffic and a continuous flow of hotel patrons.”

Participating artists will price their work, which will be included with their submissions. All work must be for sale. The Paseo Arts Association will receive 10% commission on all work sold.
