(Oklahoma City) There is much anticipation as Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma prepares to present its holiday tradition, Lyric’s A Christmas Carol for the third year. Lyric is proud to welcome nationally-acclaimed actor Chris Bloch in the role of Ebenezer Scrooge. Bloch comes here direct from Washington, D.C.’s Ford’s Theatre production of A Christmas Carol. He is best known for his work as Bob Cratchit and Ebenezer Scrooge, as well as in Les Miserables, 1776, TV’s The West Wing and much more.

“We are ecstatic to have Chris join the cast,” said Michael Baron, Lyric’s artistic director and director of the show. “This being the third year of the production, it is the perfect time to bring a fresh perspective into the character of Scrooge. Chris is a superb actor and we are excited for Oklahoma audiences to see him on stage for the first time.”

The Oklahoma Gazette’s Larry Laneer called the production “two hours of purely enjoyable theatre.”

Performances November 29 through December 28 at the Plaza Theatre. Tickets for Lyric’s A Christmas Carol are now on sale. To purchase, call (405) 524-9312, visit LyricTheatreOKC.com or at Lyric’s box office, 1727 NW 16th Street in Oklahoma City.
