Robert JM Productions presents the drag disaster comedy, Drag Float!, written and directed by Robert Matson.  The “wigged out” comedy will have its regional premier at the Boom Dinner Theatre, August 15th through the 30th

When the Big Queens cruise ship is hit by a gigantic wave during the Celebrity Illusion Pageant, a group of drag queens, a lost little lesbian and somebody’s mom are left stranded in the middle of the ocean. The group of strangers encounter hungry sharks, torrid thunderstorms, starvation, flying wigs and a giant whale while trying not to kill each other.

“I combined the elements of Hitchcock's Lifeboat, 70's disaster movies and drag queens dressed up as famous celebrities, mixed it up with some high comedy and a bit of heart,” says playwright Matson, “The play’s not only about what you see on the outside but what's underneath all the glamour,  the dresses, the makeup and the wigs.”

Dougie Rankin plays Hannah Bedhead, the big bodacious Broadway drag queen with a musical theatre story to tell whether anyone wants to hear or not.

Boom entertainer Carmen Deveraux, divas it up as Medusa, the drag queen who slowly loses her mind and develops a triple split personality including Cher.

Tim Pesch plays Dinah Ross Spectacular, the drag queen with a spitfire tongue and a love for Diana Ross.

Terry Veal, a local OKC theatre favorite, camps it up as Rose Petals, the drag queen dressed as Bette Davis from ‘Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?’, who ends up in a coma after being hit by the ship’s anchor.

Rounding out the cast is Anna Holloway, playing somebody’s mom, Shirley Hill, who has joined the cruise to celebrate with her son and Heidi Sue Wallace, as Hippalyta, a very spiritual drag assistant with lesbian issues.

Costumes and wigs will be designed by Miss Gay Oklahoma 2014, Renee Hilton with sound and lights by Kirk Hughes.
