Trump wins Georgia, Alabama, Massachusetts and Tennessee
Donald Trump has won the Republican presidential primary in Georgia, taking home his first win in the group of contests known as Super Tuesday, according to the Association Press. The AP also declared that Trump won the Alabama, Massachuesetts and Tennessee primaries.
“The Republican front-runner has already won three of the previous four nomination contests, putting him ahead of his rivals, particularly Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who many feel need a strong showing on Tuesday to keep their campaigns afloat,” said the AP.
According to CBS news, ”Trump is currently leading the Republican primary in Georgia with 40 percent of the vote. He is projected as the winner there. Cruz and Rubio are deadlocked for second place, with 23 percent and 22 percent respectively.
“Nearly two-thirds of voters in Georgia (60 percent) are evangelicals. Trump is winning with 41 percent of their votes, compared to Cruz with 26 percent and Rubio at 20 percent.”
According to predictions by FiveThirtyEight.com before the election, the average of Trump’s polls showed him expected to win 36.8 percent of the vote, with Cruz and Rubio both at 20 percent.

Trump posted a message on Twitter reading "Thank you Georgia" moments after polls closed.
