WNBA star Elena Delle Donne is gay

Chicago Sky WNBA forward Elena Delle Donne has come out gay.

Delle Donne announced her June engagement to partner Amanda Clifton in the August issue of Vogue magazine.

According to ESPN, "It's not a coming out article or anything. I've been with (Clifton) for a very long time now, and people who are close to me know that, and that's that," she said.

"Elena divides her time between traveling with her team, the Chicago Sky, and her family’s home in the rolling green landscape of Wilmington, Delaware," the Vogue article read. "She and her fiancee, Amanda Clifton, keep apartments in both Chicago and Wilmington [Delaware]." 

This was the article's only indication of her sexual orientation - clear and concise. 

Many congratulations are sent to the newly engaged couple.
